Assistant Professor in Special Education
The Education Department at Iona College is currently accepting applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in Special Education available starting in August 2010.
The successful candidate will possess the following desired qualifications: an earned Doctorate in Education with an emphasis on Special Education and at least five years of teaching experience in this area. In addition, the applicant must have knowledge of NCATE and Council for Exceptional Children standards. The applicant must show evidence of the ability to teach at both the undergraduate/graduate levels on two campuses. The applicant will also be expected to collaborate with the Speech, Psychology, and Social Work departments on special projects. In addition, the applicant should have a research agenda leading to publication as well as a dedication to service to the College and professional community as articulated in the Iona College and Departmental Mission and Goals.
