Depends on Qualifications


Prepare and teach 15-credit hours of Academic Literacy (Integrated Reading, Writing, and Critical Thinking) courses per semester, including sections paired with College English in an accelerated learning program (ALP) and sections that may be blended /online. Use a variety of teaching techniques and instructional technology. Stay current in the discipline and participate with other faculty in developing theme-based curricula. Collaborate effectively with colleagues from other disciplines, college support staff, student groups, and community organizations. Participate in college committees and projects, and seek continuous professional development in teaching methodologies and practices.

Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in Reading, Literacy, English, or a related field, such as Education.Experience teaching integrated reading and writing at the college level and working with developmental students of varying skill levels. Strong proficiency with learning management systems and emerging instructional technologies. Evidence of working effectively with students, colleagues and learning support staff. Prior experience with community college teaching, online teaching, curriculum development and program administration preferred.
