Overview

The Bunce School of Education is seeking a talented individual to fill a position that includes multiple responsibilities. The successful candidate will hold the title of non-tenure track Assistant Professor, Career Technical Education. The role includes serving as Coordinator for a unique program that serves as one of only five such programs within the state of Ohio. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills and be able to assist where needed by the Bunce School of Education.

The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the Career Tech Program at the University of Rio Grande including the following:

  • Teaching the courses in career tech education
  • Extensive travel required to observe teachers throughout southern Ohio
  • Frequent interaction with ODE and Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE)
  • Review of transcripts and advising potential students
  • Review and approval of licensure requests
  • Frequent interaction with Career Tech Center Administration

The position is grant-funded by a one-year renewable grant. In addition, summer teaching (in June) is required as is minimal summer administrative work (i.e. ongoing communication with area school principals).

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree and prior teaching experience
  • Licensure in Career Tech education preferred
  • Experience in Leadership/Administration
  • Experience with Ohio Department of Education (ODE) licensure requirements
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
