ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION- (tenure-track) – The Department of Education is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach primarily elementary literacy courses in the Education Program, beginning August 2018. Responsibilities include teaching and leadership of the undergraduate elementary literacy teacher preparation courses.

Additional responsibilities include scholarship related to teacher preparation, serving as academic advisor, and providing departmental/university/community service. The undergraduate program is approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and accredited by NCATE.

REQUIRED: Earned doctorate in education from an accredited institution of higher education (or comparable educational background); professional experience in elementary literacy education in the P-12 environment.

PREFERRED: Doctorate in literacy education. Previous classroom and online teaching and service experience in higher education, specifically in the field of literacy education.
