Salary Commensurate with education & experience

Required: The ideal candidate must possess an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Reading and Literacy Education, Reading, or closely related field from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching graduate level courses, academic research, and service.

Preferred: Preference will be given to applicants with a strong work ethic, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; great disposition; and superior working relations with students, peers, administrators, and others. Experience in teaching courses through Blackboard and web-course development is strongly desired. Experience in a K-12 reading specialist position and/or certification in reading position strongly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities: Must have the ability to teach a broad range of graduate level Education courses as well as courses in the specialty area of Reading. Responsibilities include teaching, supervision of practicum and/or internship students, preparing degree plans, advising students, and active participation in departmental and university activities. Teaching assignments are web-enhanced and web-based, or any combination thereof.

Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times. Position is Security Sensitive.
