The School of Education at Shawnee State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Secondary or Middle Childhood Education beginning August 27, 2018. The School seeks a faculty member with a commitment to the mission and goals of the University, the College and the School.

The successful candidate will be expected to regularly teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Secondary or Middle Childhood Education; supervise professional field and clinical/internship experiences; advise graduate research proposals; advise undergraduate and graduate students; serve on department, college and university committees; engage in scholarly activities; and collaborate with university and PreK-12 school partners to further the department’s mission of preparing “learner-centered, inquiring professionals.” Candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education with the skills and willingness to teach online courses.

Shawnee State University is the regional state university for south-central Ohio. It is a primarily undergraduate, four-year public university with limited graduate degree programs. Enrollment is approximately 3,900 students. Shawnee State is located on the Ohio River in Portsmouth, Ohio – a small city nestled in a beautiful, wooded area of southern Ohio.
