Nine-month, tenure track appointment

Teaching science/reading undergraduate/graduate courses in Science & Reading Education and other related courses as needed. The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum with its’ emphasis on a common First-year Seminar and core curriculum courses that enhance students’ critical thinking, and the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study. Work with and advise undergraduate/graduate students.

Required Qualifications

  • Three years of successful US public school teaching experience in science education &/or reading education highly desirable.
  • Required earned doctorate in Science/Reading education or strongly related area, ABD considered.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching should be shown; and scholarship and commitment to research and service also required. Evidence should be given of excellence in the ability to collaborate with K-12 public school science &/or reading programs.
  • Ability to conduct scholarly activities and experience in publishing or presenting refereed research for program needs should be shown.
