Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Special Education. Position beings August 1, 2017, will be contingent on University funding. Candidates should have an earned doctorate degree in special education or a related acceptable field from an accredited university. The candidates should have significant experience teaching special education students in PK – 12 schools. A record of successful college or university teaching is preferred. This position primarily requires teaching special education methods classes to undergraduate students at the Southeastern, Durant campus. This position also includes advising students. Tenure track faculty members will be expected to provide evidence of effective classroom teaching, research/scholarship, and contributions to the institution and profession commensurate with rank.

Southeastern Oklahoma State University, founded in 1909 as a teacher college, continues the strong tradition of producing outstanding educators for southeast Oklahoma and north Texas. Student enrollment on the campus(s) is approximately 4,200 and the campus is situated in rural Oklahoma. The main campus is located in Durant, Oklahoma, which is 80 miles north of Dallas, Texas, and 150 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. The primary teaching assignment is at the main campus at Southeastern in Durant, Oklahoma, but the position may require multiple campus assignments as well as varied time and delivery methods. Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
