The Education Department at La Salle University seeks qualified candidates to join a dynamic group of teacher educators for the position of Department Chair. Housed in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, the department is comprised of graduate and undergraduate programs that prepare teachers for initial certification and advanced study.

As the primary representative of the education programs the Chair will develop strong collaborative relationships to advance the goals of the department. Most important will be the ability to articulate a clear vision and mission of education that honors St. John Baptist de La Salle, the Patron Saint of Teachers, and relevant to a changing world.


Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. Minimum requirements include an earned doctorate in education or applied fields, active scholarship, a record of accomplishment, and evidence of effective leadership in higher education. Preference will be given to candidates who have strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership ability, and a history of excellent teaching, student advising, and faculty development.
