ROLE of the POSITION
This position will require an individual who is well-versed in the scholarship of educational leadership and policy and who is willing to establish a center of excellence in the arena of educational policy. This individual will be expected to teach in the Educational Policy and Leadership (EPL) program and work with colleagues in the development of a doctoral program. The EPL program is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology and Higher Education in the College of Education.In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to advise, conduct research, seek and obtain external funding, and perform university and national/international service. Relative to the establishment of a center of excellence for educational policy, the individual will be expected to work with multiple departments and programs and forge relationships with state and national lawmakers and executive policy makers across a broad spectrum of P-20 educational issues.
This position requires: (a) an earned doctorate in educational leadership, educational policy, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university; (b) recent empirical scholarship in educational leadership and/or educational policy that evidences an applicant’s capacity to further develop or continue a research agenda; (c) evidence that indicates applicant’s capacity to secure external funding; and (d) prior leadership experience that indicates a trajectory to develop and maintain a center of excellence in educational policy.
Preferred qualifications: Evidence of collaboration with individuals in other disciplines or work areas; experience working with legislative bodies, federal or state education agencies, and/or policy centers focused on educational issues.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
