Overview

Springfield College invites applications for a one-year, nine-month appointment for an Instructor of Literacy/Reading in the Education Department. Responsibilities include: teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and supervision of pre-practicum and practicum teachers (12 credits each semester).

Required qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree and teacher certification/licensure in a related field (reading specialist license preferred) and a record of at least three years of successful K-12 teaching experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience with pre-service and/or in-service teaching, including supervision of student teachers; and college level experience teaching Foundations of Reading and/or Sheltered English Immersion courses.
  • An earned doctorate or ABD from a regionally accredited institution and/or experience with hybrid course delivery would be especially valuable to our program.
