The University invites applications for a part-time (50%), temporary position in Special Education for the 2018-19 AY, beginning August 18, 2018 and ending May 24, 2019.

Essential Duties: The successful candidate will teach coursework within the Department of Special Education. These courses support the special education dual majors, other education majors, and disability and community service majors.

This position may require development and teaching of courses online.

Specific Duties : The successful candidate will teach 6 credit hours of coursework per semester, maintain office hours as specified by the CBA, fulfill departmental responsibilities as assigned, and participate in University functions.

Minimum Qualifications (Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years special education teaching experience in the United States; demonstrated expertise in special education; and a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field.

Terminal degree is required for appointment as Assistant Professor, without the terminal degree candidate will be appointed as Instructor.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate well and/or perform well in an interview or teaching demonstration and successfully complete the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate Degree in Special Education from an accredited University, college teaching experience, experience with diverse populations, expertise in communication disorders and with assistive technology devices.
