Full-time faculty appointment in Science Education in the Department of Education (Tenure Track).
Teach the equivalent of a full-time (seven-course) load per academic year, including science content and methods courses for elementary education majors and science methods courses for secondary education majors. Serve as program leader for science education. Collaborate with the chairpersons and faculty of the natural science departments (Biology, Physics, and Chemistry) to arrange staffing and scheduling for science education courses. Assist science education students in arranging their independent research projects.
Candidate must be committed to the liberal arts educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the University and demonstrate commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentoring students, and scholarship.
Teaching licensure and teaching experience in P-12 education required in a discipline in the natural sciences. Experience in higher education or graduate research preferred.
Master’s degree in education or a natural science required and progress toward a doctoral program in one of these two areas; PhD or EdD in education or a natural science preferred; ABD considered.
Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
