Primary responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, for initial certification, face-to-face and online. Serving on and/or chairing dissertations committees, supervising pre-service teachers, as well as developing and maintaining a line of research and publication. Responsibilities will also include working collaboratively with department, college and university faculty and area partner schools; performing service and administrative tasks necessary to enhance the program, department, college, and university goals and objectives; perform related tasks necessary to ensure excellence as an Education Program Provider at Tennessee State University; and using technology for synchronous and asynchronous instruction. The successful candidate will be able to foster an environment of professionalism and collaboration, work toward continuous improvement as an education provider, and demonstrate exceptional ability to function as part of a team with university faculty and the community of practice.
Candidate should have an earned doctorate in science education or curriculum and instruction with emphasis in Stem education (science); evidence of successful university teaching and research; and a minimum of three years teaching elementary school or middle school science, preferably in a public school setting.
Preferred qualifications include studies or expertise in differentiated instruction (instructing diverse learners, inclusive instruction ELL education), having earned graduate credit hours and/or experience teaching ESL/ELL methodology courses, or assessment.
