The tenure-track associate or assistant professor is a scholar with expertise in educational technology, learning analytics, informational visualization, instructional design in formal and informal educational settings, or distance education.  The individual has professional experience in instructional design and technology as well demonstrated excellence in teaching online and mentoring doctoral students in writing and research. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching online, graduate courses in the areas of educational technology and/or instructional design.
  • Advising and mentoring Master’s and Doctoral students
  • Chairing dissertation committees
  • Sustaining an existing research agenda
  • Publishing in peer-reviewed journals and making presentation at national and international conferences
  • Participating in professional associations
  • Securing external funding for research and instructional design projects
  • Helping to support and coordinate at least one of the following IDT program strands (e.g. educational technology, design and development, or research and scholarship)
  • Supporting a lab and offering open lab hours each week to assist students
