Jefferson (Thomas Jefferson University + Philadelphia University) – East Falls Campus seeks candidates for up to two Visiting Assistant Professor positions in Community and Trauma Counseling.
Candidates will possess sound clinical experience, particularly in trauma-informed counseling and experience working with clients who have trauma-related symptoms. Candidates with expertise and/or credentials in addictions or play therapy are preferred. A professional license is required, LPC is preferred, and a minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience; trauma-related experience is preferred. Candidate must have teaching experience, graduate-level preferred, in counseling or a related discipline. A facility with online learning is important. Candidate must have sound organizational skills, be a strong communicator, a team player and have some proficiency with computers and education-related technology. The candidate must possess a doctorate in counselor education (graduates of CACREP-accredited programs are preferred), psychology or a related mental health field.
The appointed candidate will be responsible for teaching eight courses in the graduate and/or undergraduate program(s) and advising 20 graduate students. The candidate must maintain clinical practice outside of the University. Clinical experience in trauma-informed mental health service delivery is preferred.
