Overview

Mississippi University for Women Division of Education and Outreach is seeking applications for a full-time nine-month tenure-track assistant professor beginning August 2019.

Qualifications: Required: earned doctorate in Education with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Reading Literacy education and preparation from a regionally accredited university; K-12 teaching/administration experience (demonstrating familiarity with current K-12 classroom methods and technology). Preferred: 18 additional graduate hours in early childhood; demonstrated application of best practices in applying educational technology to innovate curriculum and new models of course delivery.

Responsibilities: The Assistant Professor is responsible for undergraduate and graduate teaching (4-4 load), with overload and summer teaching opportunities possible. Is involved in academic advising as well as the department’s student recruitment and retention strategies. Takes part as requested in learning outcomes assessment and program assessment, accreditation reporting, and in departmental initiatives related to curricular innovations. Carries out an agenda of professional development (research, conference participation, etc.) and is involved in service to the college and/or university as appropriate.
