The Department of Education and Wellness in the School of Education invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor or Continuing Lecturer of Education specializing in K-8 literacy beginning August 2020. The successful candidate will have the ability to contribute to the Teacher Education and Elon’s Core Curriculum programs. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in literacy, children’s literature, English language arts methods and the Core Curriculum; supervision of field experiences, student advising, mentoring students’ research, and contributing to the department, school and university. Qualifications include holding a doctorate or master’s in education or related field by date of appointment, experience teaching at the elementary level, and demonstrated potential for scholarly activity in literacy education. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of people, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in their cover letter.
