The University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College, in southeastern Ohio, announces an opening for a full-time, tenure track or non-tenure track teaching position (rank commensurate with qualifications) in the field of Clinical/Counseling Psychology to begin August 2019. Area of specialization is open.
Candidates must be able to teach Counseling Skills & Theoretical Foundations, General Psychology, Personality, Behavior Modification, and Abnormal Psychology, as well as coordinate and supervise the practicum program. Ability to teach any combination of the following also preferred: Social Psychology, Statistics for Behavioral Sciences, and/or Human Growth & Development. Rotational/semi-regular classes may also include Senior Capstone and additional courses in area of specialty. Involving undergraduate students in research and working with students on senior theses is an expected component of the position. Student advising and scholarship and/or service to the university is also required.
The University of Rio Grande is a small private university paired with a public community college. Full time faculty of the psychology department are considered universities employees, and psychology course materials are typically presented at the university level.
Applicants are welcome at the Instructor or Assistant Professor levels; Assistant Professor position preference for PhD or ABD and requires typical class load of 12 credits (approx. 4 courses) per semester. Instructor position requires master’s degree and encompasses typical course load of 15 credits (approx. 5 courses) per semester. Travel to branch campuses may be required.
