The University of Northern Iowa’s College of Education is seeking applications for a nine-month term position to be housed in the Literacy Education division, in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
The Literacy Education Division, in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at UNI’s College of Education seeks a term instructor (1-year contract) with expertise in assessment and evaluation. The applicant’s duties will include 100% teaching courses (4 fall/ 4 spring) related to literacy, specifically literacy assessment and evaluation. The Iowa State Reading Endorsement is offered face to face as well as online and courses will be taught in both formats to undergraduate and graduate students.

An earned doctorate (EdD or PhD) in literacy education or related field is required.
Required qualifications include demonstrated expertise in literacy assessment and instruction; knowledge and/or experience in working with diverse K-12 populations to support literacy achievement; knowledge of data management; high level of attention to details; and three years of K-12 teaching experience.
Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of the role of the reading specialist; interest in teacher education and professional development of in-service teachers; demonstrated expertise at multiple grade levels; and experience with online teaching.
