Program: The Educational Leadership Program, in the Department of Literacy, Leadership, and Development of the Goodwin College of Education offers an M.A. in Educational Leadership. This degree is accompanied by a principal endorsement on the Illinois Professional Educator’s License. The endorsement qualifies graduates to be school principals, assistant principals, deans, department chairs, athletic directors, and other related positions.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in leadership grounded in current research at the main campus, satellite campuses, and at PK-12 school locations. Academic research and service to the department, college, university, and greater community are also required.
Required Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Administration or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution (ABD with completion by 9/1/2019 will be considered). Applicants must also have served as a principal in an elementary, middle or secondary school for at least two years and be PERA certified to evaluate instructional PK-12 teachers, staff and have or be eligible for an Illinois Professional Educator License with the Principal Endorsement or General Administrative Endorsement (formerly named Illinois TYPE 75).
